2009 Zackary Taylor $25 Coin Roll Philadelphia Mint (P) Presidential Dollar #19835   Zachary Taylor was born in 1784 in Virginia. His long Army career began at the age of 23 and over the decades, he served in many remote outposts that stretched from Louisiana to northern Wisconsin. He led his forces to decisive victories in the Mexican-American War, which earned him the nickname “Old Rough and Ready.” Taylor became ill after attending a long ceremony at the Washington Monument on a scorching Independence Day in 1850. He died five days later, having served only 16 months in office. He was the second President to die in office. This coin design displays large, dramatic artwork, as well as edge-incused inscriptions of the year, E PLURIBUS UNUM and the mint mark. It features a likeness of Zachary Taylor on the obverse along with the inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST, 12th PRESIDENT and 1845-1850. The reverse design is a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.
